Rebutia fulviseta

Native to the arid landscapes of Bolivia and Argentina, Rebutia fulviseta puts on its best display in full sunlight, where the deep green, rounded stem will darken to a rich purple hue. Small, coppery spines dispersed across the surface of the stem add a shimmery effect, while rich red summertime blooms will enhance the contrast even further!

In addition to ample direct sunlight, Rebutia fulviseta requires protection from overwatering, in the form of a thorough yet infrequent watering routine. Porous soil within a pot with ample drainage will further shield against excess moisture, as will sufficient airflow around the stem and soil surface. When these conditions are met, Rebutia fulviseta will respond by achieving its maximum size (thought it be only a few inches!) before sending out offsets in a ring around the base of the parent plant.

Hardy only to Zone 10, be sure to take steps to avoid exposing Rebutia fulviseta to freezing temperatures, which could otherwise cause permanent scarring on the stems.

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
