Sarracenia 'Maroon' is a North American pitcher plant known for its deep red tubular pitchers and vigorous growth. It thrives in full sun—at least 6 hours daily—to maintain its rich color and robust form. Plant it in a nutrient-poor medium, and always keep the soil moist using distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water. Never use tap water, as minerals can harm the plant. This species requires a winter dormancy period (around 3–4 months), during which it should be kept cool (35–50°F / 1–10°C) and receive reduced watering. Avoid feeding with fertilizer; instead, let it capture insects naturally to meet its nutritional needs. Ideal for outdoor bog gardens or bright windowsills with high humidity and proper seasonal changes.
