Mammillaria elongata 'Ladyfinger Cactus'
DESCRIPTION
The slightly tapered, conical stems of ladyfinger cactus readily produce offsets around their base, which can be left in place to form a thick mass of stems, or removed with a clean knife and repotted to grow on into a ‘new’ specimen! Covered in tubercles along the length of its stems, it displays starbursts of creamy beige spines, creating a coating of texture sure to add a touch of whimsy to any collection, from the novice to the experienced succulent grower!
When provided with the right growing conditions, it can reach up to several inches tall and establish a clump several inches wide. Bright to direct sunlight is key to this level of growth, so be sure to place this specimen in a west or south-facing windowsill for the greatest success. Furthermore, it is important to protect the roots from excess moisture – so plan to utilize a porous soil mix within a well-draining pot, ensure ample airflow around the leaves and soil surface, and adhere to a thorough yet infrequent watering routine.
During the winter months, take extra steps to shield ‘Pink Nymph’ from frosty temperatures, which could otherwise cause permanent damage to the stems.

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
