With a coral-like growth habit, Euphorbia lactea ‘Coral Cactus’ cristata features an undulating uniquely geometric appearance, both in shape and coloration. The margins of the stems create unique angles between a series of regularly spaced spines, which will blush to red with adequate sun exposure.
'Coral Cactus’ requires ample sunlight in order to realize its best growth and coloration. Beyond this need, this exotic looking specimen is surprisingly easy to care for – indeed, coddling this variety is far more likely to cause damage than a bit of neglect! A porous soil mixture within a well draining pot is a must to avoid ‘wet feet,’ as is ample airflow around the leaves and soil surface. A regular watering routine will ensure the most consistent growth, but monitor your frequency closely and be sure to only provide a thorough drink once the soil has become dry to the touch.
Hardy only to Zone 10, take steps to protect ‘Coral Cactus’ from freezing temperatures, which could cause scarring to its mesmerizing stems. Furthermore, be mindful of the fact that all Euphorbia contain a toxic latex sap that can cause skin irritation – so be sure to keep this variety away from curious children or pets.

All plants are shipped bare-root with the exception of House Plants and Plant Club Subscription Boxes. House plants and succulents will ship from separate locations and may arrive at different times. Orders ship Monday-Friday each week. Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be processed. We ship within the USA and its outlying territories ONLY. Read our full policy here.
Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
