Agave lophantha 'Quadricolor'

Size

Agave lophantha 'Quadricolor' is an eye-catching variety which draws its name from the coloration of its leaves, which feature dark green, yellow, and light green stripes, accented by red teeth that will flush even deeper in tone when exposed to high levels of sunlight. A relatively small Agave, reaching only 18 inches tall and wide, ‘Quadricolor’ can serve well as a foil for darker hued succulents in an arrangement or rock garden, or can easily hold its own as a standalone specimen. Known to readily send out pups, or offsets, this variety will begin to fill any area with its unique rosettes of striped leaves.

Bright light is the key to ‘Quadricolor’s potential, and will ensure both bright coloration as well as healthy growth.  Hailing from Mexico, this succulent has adapted to harsh and arid conditions, and as such prefers a very porous soil (such as a cactus mix amended with additional pumice, course sand, or perlite) and prefers infrequent but thorough watering. During the winter months, take care to shield this plant’s leaves from frosty temperatures, as it is not cold hardy.

Plant Size & Appearance
Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
