Reaching up to 4 inches tall and 3 times as wide, Pachyphytum ‘Moonstones’ forms immensely thick, egg-shaped leaves that stack up the stems to form loose rosettes. The leaves themselves feature a thick coating of powdery farina, layered on top of shades of olive green, gray, and even rosy pink. Readily producing offsets, this variety will quickly fill its container with color and texture, including red blooms atop very long bloom stalks that will emerge during the late winter or early spring each year.

A Mexican native,  ‘Moonstones’ can not only survive, but also thrive, in harsh conditions such as intense sunlight, high temperatures, and poor soils. Bright light will ensure the best growth, as well as the richest coloration of the rosettes. This variety can be prone to mealy bugs, especially when subjected to excess moisture – as such, be sure to utilize a porous soil within a well-draining pot, provide ample airflow around the leaves and soil surface, and water in accordance with a thorough yet infrequent routine to avoid this affliction.

Not at all cold hardy, ‘Moonstones’ will likely succumb to a hard frost – in fact, it prefers temperatures well above 45 degree Fahrenheit, whenever possible.

All plants are shipped bare-root with the exception of Bulk Succulent Packs, House Plants, and Plant Club Subscription Boxes. House plants and succulents will ship from separate locations and may arrive at different times. Orders ship Monday-Friday each week. Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be processed. We ship within the USA and its outlying territories ONLY. Read our full policy here.

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
