Crassula capitella 'Red Pagoda Village' has sharply triangular, opposing leaf pairs  – ranging in hue from bright green to deep crimson – decrease in size toward the top of each stem, truly mimicking the appearance of an architectural pagoda! Almost mesmerizing in their growth habit, especially as the plant begins to produce offsets and form a dense clump, ‘Red Pagoda Village’ will make an eye-catching and low-growing addition to any succulent collection – even forming a unique outdoor groundcover in frost-free regions above Zone 10!

Like all brightly hued succulents, ‘Red Pagoda Village’ will best live up to its name when exposed to high levels of bright sunlight, while partially shady conditions will cause it to revert to its green base tone and may subject it to etiolating. Porous soil, adequate pot drainage, and ample airflow will contribute to good plant health, as will a thorough but infrequent watering schedule. Care should also be taken not to pour water directly over the plant, but rather onto the soil surface, to help avoid trapped moisture between the leaves – which could predispose the plant to rot and pests.

During the spring months, small white blooms will emerge from the tip of each stem, adding another layer of contrast to this already remarkable variety.

If you're not completely happy with your Leaf & Clay purchase, we'll do everything we can to make things right!

All plants are shipped bare-root with the exception of House Plants and Plant Club Subscription Boxes. House plants and succulents will ship from separate locations and may arrive at different times. Orders ship Monday-Friday each week. Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be processed. We ship within the USA and its outlying territories ONLY. Read our full policy here.

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
