Sporting nearly black coloration on its thick, powdery leaves, the 6-inch rosettes of Echeveria ‘Dark Moon’ also include tones of deep blue and purple, making for an eye-catching succulent that creates the perfect contrast to lighter hued varieties when included in arrangements or rock gardens.

Like most richly colored Echeveria, ‘Dark Moon’ requires very bright light to maintain its coloration – in fact, the brighter the sun exposure, the deeper its colors will be! Beyond this requirement, its needs are simple, and revolve primarily around avoiding excess moisture around the roots and leaves. As such, be sure to provide this variety with very porous soil in a well-draining pot, coupled with ample airflow around the leaves and soil surface. Water deeply but infrequently, giving the soil the opportunity to completely dry between waterings. Furthermore, take care not to pour water directly over or into the rosette, where it can become trapped and lead to issues with rot and pests.

During the winter months, be sure to shield this tender succulent from frosty temperatures – and as the weather begins to warm in the spring and summer, prepare for a display of red blooms, providing a vibrant contrast to the nearly black rosettes.

All plants are shipped bare-root with the exception of House Plants and Plant Club Subscription Boxes. Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
