Sempervivum 'Pfalzer Nebel'
DESCRIPTION
Introducing the Sempervivum 'Pfalzer Nebel', a captivating succulent that hails from the rugged terrains of Europe. This hardy perennial, also known as 'Pfalz Fog', is a true spectacle in any succulent collection. Its rosettes are a symphony of colors, displaying a base of deep green that transitions to soft, smokey purples at the tips – a feature that becomes even more pronounced with cooler temperatures. The leaves are thick, fleshy, and come together in a tight rosette that can grow up to 4 inches in diameter.
One of the most charming characteristics of the 'Pfalzer Nebel' is its ability to produce multiple offsets, which allow it to form a dense, ground-covering cluster that adds texture and depth to any garden space or container. This quality, combined with its drought-resistant nature, makes it an ideal candidate for rock gardens, green roofs, or as a striking border plant. Though it thrives in full sun, it will tolerate partial shade, where its colors may morph into softer hues.
As if its stunning foliage wasn't enough, the 'Pfalzer Nebel' also blooms in the summer. It sends up tall, stalk-like flowers that are star-shaped and a vibrant shade of pink, attracting pollinators and adding an extra layer of interest to its display. After blooming, the mother rosette will die back, making way for the younger offsets to take its place.
Whether nestled in a succulent garden, perched on a sunny windowsill, or featured in a terrarium, the Sempervivum 'Pfalzer Nebel' is sure to steal the show with its unique coloration and resilient nature. This low-maintenance plant not only adds beauty to your space but also brings a piece of European wilderness into your home.
PLANT SIZING & APPEARANCE
Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
