DESCRIPTION
Sansevieria Trifasciata 'Emerald Star', fondly known as 'Mother-in-law's Tongue', is an enchanting houseplant originating from West Africa. It flaunts strikingly variegated leaves in hues of rich emerald and lighter green, adorned with broad yellow edges that accentuate its vibrant beauty. The tall, rigid, sword-like leaves form an elegant rosette, standing tall and proud, with the plant reaching up to 3 feet in height and spreading out about 2 feet in width. Known for its low maintenance and high durability, this resilient houseplant is ideal for beginners or those with busy schedules. Whether it's positioned in a pot as a standalone showpiece or placed in a garden among other foliage, the 'Emerald Star' adds an irresistible touch of tropical charm to any space. In a container, the plant's upward growth creates a stunning “thriller” effect, while in a garden, it can serve as a remarkable backdrop for lower-growing plants. One of the unique aspects of the 'Emerald Star' is its ability to purify the air. This houseplant is a powerhouse when it comes to filtering toxins from the atmosphere, making it not only a visually appealing addition to your home but also a functional one. Despite its slow-growing nature, the 'Emerald Star' can demonstrate surprising versatility. Given the right conditions, it may start to develop rhizomes, or horizontal underground stems, which give the plant a robust, spreading presence. Adding to the allure of its striking foliage, the 'Emerald Star' occasionally surprises its owners with delicate, fragrant flowers. These rare blossoms, typically appearing in the late winter or early spring, emit a sweet, enchanting scent that fills the air, adding an extra layer of sensory delight to your living space. Overall, the Sansevieria Trifasciata 'Emerald Star' is an undeniably alluring houseplant. Its combination of visual charm, air-purifying qualities, and low maintenance needs make it a highly desirable addition to any indoor or outdoor garden. The 'Emerald Star' is not just a plant; it's a statement piece that brings a dash of the exotic right into your home.
PLANT SIZING & APPEARANCE

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
