Its distinctive cylindrical leaves are an eye-catching feature, with hues of deep jade green, edged with subtle stripes of a lighter green – a truly unique display of Mother Nature's artistry. The leaves, reaching up to several feet in length, grow vertically from the base, mimicking the appearance of an upward thrusting spear. The African Spear plant grows at a moderate pace, reaching up to 2 feet in height and spreading to about a foot in width. However, offsets can potentially widen its footprint, making it an impressive feature in any indoor garden. When grown in a container, the plant forms a strikingly modern, sculptural silhouette. But when allowed to grow in a garden, it can spread to form an intriguing ground cover. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
