DESCRIPTION
The Hoya Carnosa, also known as the 'Wax Plant', is a remarkable houseplant native to East Asia and Australia. Its glossy, deep green leaves give it a striking presence, while the hints of burgundy that color the leaf edges add an extra layer of visual intrigue. The leaves themselves are thick and succulent-like, with a waxy finish that lends the plant its nickname. This plant grows in a vining habit, reaching up to 2 to 4 feet in length, and will extend its tendrils even further, making it an ideal choice for hanging baskets or trellises. Adding to its charm, the Wax Plant features delicate, star-shaped flowers that cluster together to form a breathtaking spectacle. These blossoms are typically a shade of creamy white or pale pink, and each one is centered with a vibrant, crimson star. As a bonus, these flowers are not just visually pleasing, they also emit a delightful fragrance, especially in the evening, filling your home with a sweet, fresh scent. The Hoya Carnosa is a relatively slow grower, but with patience, you will be rewarded with a lush, trailing plant that adds a tropical touch to any indoor space. Its cascading vines can also be trained to climb, allowing for versatility in how you display this botanical beauty. The Wax Plant is not just an attractive addition to your indoor garden, but it's also a resilient one. It thrives in bright, indirect light, but can also tolerate lower light conditions. It prefers a well-draining soil and only needs to be watered when the top inch of soil has dried out, making it a low-maintenance option for both novice and experienced plant owners. A visual treat with its glossy foliage and captivating flowers, the Hoya Carnosa 'Wax Plant' is a must-have for any houseplant collection. Its ability to adapt to various lighting conditions and minimal watering needs make it an easy-care plant that brings a sense of the exotic to your home, while its captivating growth habit and fragrant flowers make it a true showstopper.
PLANT SIZING & APPEARANCE

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
