Ficus 'Ginseng'

$ 34.99
Size: 6" Pot
DESCRIPTION
Embodying the vigor of its namesake, the Ficus 'Ginseng' is a striking houseplant native to parts of Asia. Its glossy, oval-shaped leaves reveal a lush palette of deep jade, forest green, and hints of lemon-lime – beautifully contrasted by the plant's characteristic roots, which twist and turn, creating a visual spectacle akin to a miniature tree. This botanical marvel stands at a comfortable height of around 16 inches, but its sculptural form and lush foliage give it an impressive presence that belies its size. When placed in a pot, the Ficus 'Ginseng' transforms into a striking centerpiece, its gnarled roots seeming to crawl out of the soil and up the plant's trunk, giving it an almost mythical appeal. If given the opportunity, these roots can grow to create an intricate network, creating a dramatic "bonsai" effect. Despite its intricate appearance, this plant is a relatively slow grower, ensuring it maintains its manageable size for longer. In a terrarium or a larger container, the Ficus 'Ginseng' will spread its glossy foliage, creating a dense canopy that is as functional as it is decorative, purifying the air while adding a touch of green to your living space. Its leaves, sturdy and leathery, will spill over the edges of the container, creating a cascading effect that is as stunning as it is unique. As the seasons change, keep an eye out for small, inedible fig-like fruits that may appear. These are usually hidden beneath the foliage and are a testament to the plant's tropical origins. Additionally, look forward to the rare emergence of small, inconspicuous flowers that bloom at the base of the leaves, adding another layer of interest to this already captivating plant. In line with its namesake's connotations of vitality and health, the Ficus 'Ginseng' is a resilient plant that requires minimal care, making it a perfect choice for both novice and seasoned plant enthusiasts. Its distinct form and stunning foliage ensure it remains a showstopper in any setting, whether it's gracing a windowsill, occupying a corner of your living room, or adding a touch of nature to your workspace. With the Ficus 'Ginseng', you get more than just a plant – you bring home a piece of living art.
PLANT SIZING & APPEARANCE

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
