With tight rosettes of very thick leaves that sometimes feature soft, hair-like spines around the margins, Haworthia cooperi sports an almost translucent appearance, thanks to ‘windows’ at the tip of each leaf. Resembling brushstrokes in shape, these windows allow sunlight to reach deep within the plant, facilitating photosynthesis even within lower light conditions. The remainder of the bright green leaves, which reach no more than 2 inches long at maturity, are sure to liven up any arrangement or add a pop of lightness to even the dimmer rooms of any home.

Despite what its intriguing appearance may suggest, Haworthia cooperi could not be any easier to care for. More tolerant of indirect light or even partial shade than most succulents, it can be placed in less consistently bright conditions and still flourish. It is also extremely drought-tolerant, making it able to withstand a forgotten watering now and then – indeed, it would prefer to be underwatered than overwatered! Thus, the ‘soak and dry’ method of watering will work well for Haworthia cooperi, especially when paired with a porous soil mixture within a well-draining pot.

During the winter months, be sure to shield this variety from freezing temperatures – and in the spring and summer it will reward you with clusters of white blooms atop a single inflorescence.

All plants are shipped bare-root with the exception of House Plants and Plant Club Subscription Boxes. House plants and succulents will ship from separate locations and may arrive at different times. Orders ship Monday-Friday each week. Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be processed. We ship within the USA and its outlying territories ONLY. Read our full policy here.

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
