The powdery, pastel blue leaves of Echeveria ‘Blue Swan’ form tight rosettes that can reach up to several inches in diameter. The leaves, which are largely flattened towards the top margin, cup slightly towards the center of each rosette, lending this succulent a compact appearance. A thick coating of farina is responsible for the plant’s soft, almost ethereal appearance – though care must be taken not to mar this layer with the oils from your fingerprints!

Like all uniquely hued Echeveria, ‘Blue Swan’ requires bright light to retain both its coloration and its compact growth form – in fact, the coating of farina is what allows the plant to withstand even direct sunlight without risk of sunburn! The second key requirement for this variety is to avoid overwatering, which can predispose ‘Blue Swan’ to rot and pests. To accomplish this, be sure to provide a porous soil mixture within a well-draining pot, as well as ample airflow around the leaves and soil surface. Water thoroughly but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry completely in between waterings, and do not pour the water directly overtop of the rosettes themselves.

During the cold winter months, shield ‘Blue Sky’s fleshy leaves from frosty temperatures, to avoid permanent damage.

All plants are shipped bare-root with the exception of House Plants and Plant Club Subscription Boxes. House plants and succulents will ship from separate locations and may arrive at different times. Orders ship Monday-Friday each week. Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be processed. We ship within the USA and its outlying territories ONLY. Read our full policy here.

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
