Deriving its Latin name from the distinct geometric shape of its leaves, Oscularia deltoides 'Pink Ice Plant' is native to South Africa, where it has evolved to produce a dense shrublet form even in difficult growing environments. Characterized by a profusion of small but very plump triangular leaves in a dusty bluish gray hue, small blunt ‘teeth’ along the margin of each leaf will blush to pink when exposed to ample amounts of light. Similarly, the stems of ‘Pink Ice Plant’ will take on a rich pink or even purple coloration under the same conditions!

Ample sunlight is key to the care of ‘Pink Ice Plant,’ encouraging this ground-covering specimen to reach its full size of 1 foot tall and up to 3 feet in diameter, as well as to produce enormous displays of lightly scented, daisy-like blooms in shades of pink or lavender. Porous soil with adequate drainage is also a must for this variety, whether it is being grown in containers or directly within the landscape. The cascading habit of ‘Pink Ice Plant’ makes it a natural ‘spiller’ component in any arrangement – and it can even tolerate the salty conditions found in coastal climates, unlike many succulent varieties!

Hardy to Zone 8, ‘Pink Ice Plant’ can tolerate light frost, but should be protected from severe wintery conditions.

All plants are shipped bare-root with the exception of House Plants and Plant Club Subscription Boxes. House plants and succulents will ship from separate locations and may arrive at different times. Orders ship Monday-Friday each week. Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be processed. We ship within the USA and its outlying territories ONLY. Read our full policy here.

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
