The loose, organically shaped rosettes of Echeveria nodulosa are, in a word, stunning. Also known as ‘Painted Echeveria,’ the leaves sport a looping pattern of magenta swirls, offset by a creamy lime base color that brightens towards the center of the plant, taking on a speckled appearance on the mature outer leaves. With a more branching growth habit than many Echeveria varieties, this plant makes an exceptional ‘filler’ addition in container arrangements as well as the temperate landscape.

Bright light is absolutely vital to helping ‘Painted Echeveria’ achieve its richest coloration – and its adaptation to the harsh sun of its native Mexican habitat means that it can tolerate direct sun even during the summer months! The second key to success with this variety is a thorough but infrequent watering routine, to replicate natural drought conditions. Porous soil in a well draining pot, as well as ample airflow around the leaves and soil surface, will further safeguard the plant against ills such as pests and rot.

Hardy only to Zone 10, be sure to protect ‘Painted Echeveria’s stunning leaves from frost – and in the warmth of the spring and summer, your efforts will be rewarded with displays of pink star-shaped blooms that rise above the plant on tall stalks.

All plants are shipped bare-root with the exception of House Plants and Plant Club Subscription Boxes. House plants and succulents will ship from separate locations and may arrive at different times. Orders ship Monday-Friday each week. Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be processed. We ship within the USA and its outlying territories ONLY. Read our full policy here.

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
