DESCRIPTION
Introducing the Asplenium 'Nidus Fern', a captivating houseplant native to the lush rainforests of East Asia. This fascinating fern is known for its glossy, spear-shaped fronds that range in color from a vibrant, youthful lime green to a mature, deep emerald. The leaves, which can reach up to 3 feet in length, are intricately veined and beautifully curl at the edges, giving the appearance of a large, ornamental bird’s nest. With a mature height and width of approximately 2-3 feet, this houseplant can make quite a statement in any indoor space. The Nidus Fern, also known as the Bird’s Nest Fern, thrives in hanging baskets, where its long fronds can elegantly drape over the edges, creating a stunning display of lush, tropical foliage. Alternatively, it can be potted and placed on a high shelf, where its unique nest-like growth habit can be fully appreciated. In a terrarium or large glass cloche, the fern’s fronds will form a dense, lush canopy, providing a mini tropical oasis. The Asplenium 'Nidus Fern' is a relatively slow grower, but with patience and the right care, it will reward you with a luxurious display of foliage. It does not develop flowers or seeds, instead, it reproduces through spores that are located on the underside of the fronds, adding to its exotic appeal. Unlike most ferns, the Nidus Fern is fairly resilient and can tolerate lower light levels, making it a fantastic choice for those darker corners of your home. It enjoys high humidity and requires a well-draining soil mix, so it's important to maintain a consistent watering schedule without overwatering. Its natural habitat in the rainforest understory makes it an ideal choice for bathrooms or kitchens, where it can enjoy the extra moisture in the air. To sum it up, the Asplenium 'Nidus Fern' is a truly remarkable houseplant. Its intricate fronds and nest-like growth habit provide an unmatched aesthetic appeal, while its resilience and adaptability make it a joy to care for. This fern is a must-have for any indoor plant enthusiast looking to add a touch of tropical charm to their home.
PLANT SIZING & APPEARANCE

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
