DESCRIPTION

Introducing the captivating Sempervivum 'Virgil Ford', a resilient succulent that hails from the mountainous regions of Europe. This particular variety is renowned for its striking appearance and robust nature. Its leaves form tight rosettes that exhibit a mesmerizing blend of deep burgundy and green hues, with each leaf tip adorned with a touch of frosty silver, giving it a jewel-like quality. The rosettes can grow up to 4 inches in diameter, making them a perfect centerpiece for any succulent collection.

One of the most intriguing aspects of Sempervivum 'Virgil Ford' is its ability to thrive in harsh conditions, making it an ideal plant for beginners or those looking for low-maintenance garden additions. Whether nestled in a rock garden, a rooftop container, or a rustic wall crevice, this succulent stands out with its bold colors and symmetrical beauty. It prefers well-draining soil and can tolerate drought, extreme temperatures, and even neglect, bouncing back with vigor and vitality.

As the seasons change, so does the 'Virgil Ford', showcasing its adaptability and resilience. In the summer, it sends up tall, star-shaped flowers in a lovely shade of pink, adding an extra layer of charm to its already stunning foliage. These blooms attract a variety of pollinators, creating a lively and dynamic garden scene. After flowering, the mother rosette dies, making way for the offsets to grow and continue the cycle of life, ensuring that your garden remains vibrant and full of life year after year.

Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting your succulent journey, Sempervivum 'Virgil Ford' is a must-have for its beauty, resilience, and the dynamic interest it adds to any planting arrangement.

PLANT SIZING & APPEARANCE

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
