Euphorbia polygona 'Snowflake'

The deeply ribbed stems of Euphorbia polygona 'Snowflake', when viewed from above, truly do resemble their namesake – a semblance enhanced by the powdery blue and white tones of the stem, offset by deeply hued spines on the crest of each rib. Reaching up to 24 inches tall at maturity, the columnar growth habit of this variety makes it exceptionally well suited as a ‘thriller’ component within succulent arrangements, or as a high contrast element within temperate landscape plantings. Over time, its copious offsets will create a grouping of powdery white columns that is sure to impress even the most seasoned succulent grower.

In order to achieve its full growth potential – and to encourage its ample displays of deep purple and yellow blooms each summer – be sure to provide ‘Snowflake’ with plenty of bright to direct sunlight each day. While its exotic appearance may suggest otherwise, its care requirements are otherwise quite simple. Porous soil within a well-draining pot will protect against ‘wet feet,’ while a thorough but infrequent watering routine will handle the rest!

During the winter months, be sure to shield ‘Snowflake’ from freezing temperatures, which could cause significant harm to the stems – and furthermore, please take note of the fact that the stems do contain a toxic latex  sap known to cause skin irritation, and handle this stunning plant with respect.

Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
