It is truly no question where Crassula tetragona 'Miniature Pine Tree' received its common name, as the bright green leaves closely resemble the needles of a pine tree! While it can reach up to several feet in height when grown outdoors in a temperate climate resembling that of its native South Africa, indoor specimens tend to stay far more compact. An excellent succulent for beginners, ‘Miniature Pine Tree’ can tolerate a fair deal of neglect – in fact, it would much rather skip a watering than be overwatered!

If you do not reside in Zone 10 or above, plan to keep this variety as a houseplant, placing it in a very bright windowsill or other location in your home. While ‘Miniature Pine Tree’ can tolerate partially shaded conditions for some time, it will experience more stunted growth and is far less likely to produce its characteristic white blooms in the absence of more direct sunlight.

To avoid issues with rot and pests, take care to water thoroughly but infrequently, giving the plant a drink only once the soil has had a chance to completely dry through. A porous soil mixture, a well-draining pot, and ample airflow around the leaves and soil surface will take you the rest of the way toward a happy, healthy ‘Miniature Pine Tree.’

If you're not completely happy with your Leaf & Clay purchase, we'll do everything we can to make things right!

All plants are shipped bare-root with the exception of House Plants and Plant Club Subscription Boxes. House plants and succulents will ship from separate locations and may arrive at different times. Orders ship Monday-Friday each week. Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be processed. We ship within the USA and its outlying territories ONLY. Read our full policy here.

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
