Aptly named, the crested, whorled stems of this cactus are curious indeed! Bluish green in hue, and dotted with white, wooly areoles, this plant nearly defies description. Take care when handling, as the large brown spines cover the plant at intervals. Given time to mature within the appropriate environmental conditions, ‘Curiosity Plant’ can reach a substantial size and is a relatively fast grower for a cactus. While not all specimens will flower well indoors, those that do will sport large, white flowers with red tips to their petals, which open during the nighttime and begin to senesce by morning.

Like most cacti, this variety prefers bright light and arid soil conditions, which can be replicated using the ‘soak and dry’ method of watering in conjunction with a very porous soil mixture within a well draining pot. Take care not to allow moisture to become trapped within the whorling stems, and ensure ample airflow reaches all areas of the plant. Plan to water even less during the winter months, and be sure to protect ‘Curiosity Plant’ from freezing temperatures that may permanently scar its unique structure.

If you're not completely happy with your Leaf & Clay purchase, we'll do everything we can to make things right!

All plants are shipped bare-root with the exception of House Plants and Plant Club Subscription Boxes. House plants and succulents will ship from separate locations and may arrive at different times. Orders ship Monday-Friday each week. Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be processed. We ship within the USA and its outlying territories ONLY. Read our full policy here.

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
