Echeveria 'Dick's Pink'

Size

Forming large, typically solitary rosettes, the ruffled leaves of Echeveria ‘Dick’s Pink’ feature a strong fuchsia margin, which offsets base tones that shift across the seasons, featuring varying shades of light green, dusty blue, soft mauve, or even gray. During the summer growing season, stalks of blooms offset the 10-inch rosettes even further, adding a pale red contrast to the plant’s overall aesthetic.

Like most brightly hued, rosette-shaped succulents, ‘Dick’s Pink’ requires plenty of bright to full sunlight in order to maintain its compact growth form and display its richest coloration. Beyond that, its care needs are simple, and center primarily on avoiding excess moisture. As such, be sure to water thoroughly yet infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out completely in between drinks. Utilize a porous succulent soil mix within a well draining pot, and position this specimen in a location with plenty of airflow around the leaves and soil surface, which will help stave off rot and pests such as mealy bugs.

During the winter months, be sure to shield ‘Dick’s Pink’ from freezing temperatures, as the plant is only hardy down to Zone 9.
