Exceptionally rare, Echeveria 'Blue Heron' variegata features rosettes of long leaves variegated in shades of pale blue, mauve, pink and cream. A truly one-of-a-kind variety, ‘Blue Heron’ Variegata deserves a place in every succulent collection, where it can either hold its own as a single specimen, or create a stunning pop of multiple colors within any arrangement! In all but the most temperate of climates, this variety is best suited to living in a pot as opposed to directly in the garden, as it will need to be brought indoors when there is a threat of frost.

Due to the reduction in chlorophyll brought about by its variegation, this variety requires even brighter light than many Echeveria. As such, be sure to place it in a sunny south-facing windowsill, or plan to supplement with a grow light. Furthermore, it is critical to protect ‘Blue Heron’ Variegata from excess moisture – so be sure to provide porous soil with great drainage, and water thoroughly but infrequently. Ample airflow around the leaves and soil surface will further shield against issues with dampness, which can predispose the plant to rot or pests.

If you're not completely happy with your Leaf & Clay purchase, we'll do everything we can to make things right!

All plants are shipped bare-root with the exception of House Plants and Plant Club Subscription Boxes. House plants and succulents will ship from separate locations and may arrive at different times. Orders ship Monday-Friday each week. Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be processed. We ship within the USA and its outlying territories ONLY. Read our full policy here.

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
