The upright, chubby leaves of G. ‘A Grim One' rosettes create the backdrop for an absolutely mesmerizing display of pastel color. The innermost portion of each leaf features a creamy bluish green tone, which radiates into hues of magenta and lilac towards the margins when amply ‘stressed’. Furthermore, thanks to a powdery layer of farina, these already stunning colors are softened further, lending the plant a hazy and ethereal look that is sure to pop within any succulent collection.

Capable of reaching up to 10 inches in diameter, G. 'A Grim One' will realize its best growth and richest coloration when exposed to plenty of bright sunlight, reverting to more green tones when subjected to shadier conditions. Like all fleshy succulents, it is important not to overwater, as excess moisture can readily lead to rot or pest infestation. To avoid this fate, be sure to provide G. ‘A Grim One’ with a porous soil mixture, a well-draining pot, and a thorough but infrequent watering routine.

During the winter months, shield these thick leaves from damaging frost – and as the seasons shift toward summer, you will be rewarded with short stalks of bell-shaped orange blooms, creating the perfect contrast to its pastel rosettes!

All plants are shipped bare-root with the exception of House Plants and Plant Club Subscription Boxes. House plants and succulents will ship from separate locations and may arrive at different times. Orders ship Monday-Friday each week. Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be processed. We ship within the USA and its outlying territories ONLY. Read our full policy here.

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
