With the same broad, variegated leaves as its non-crested cousin, Aeonium ‘Sunburst’ cristata features flattened rosettes clustered densely across the surface of an undulating, flattened ‘trunk’ – formed thanks to a mutation in the apical meristem, or growth center, of the plant. Each leaf features a minty green center, offset by a layer of creamy white and yellow towards the margin, and topped off by a bright pink edge.

Slipping into dormancy during the peak of the summer heat, Aeonium ‘Sunburst’ cristata is an active winter grower. Though it can tolerate indirect light, or even partial shade, the pink edging on each leaf will be brightest in full sun. Its watering needs are typical for succulents, and include a thorough drink only once the soil has had a chance to dry completely through – and during the summer dormancy period, this schedule can be reduced even further to prevent issues such as rot. A porous soil mix within a well-draining pot, coupled with ample airflow around the leaves and soil surface, will take you the rest of the way toward success with this uncommon variety.

Aeonium ‘Sunburst’ cristata is best housed indoors in all but the warmest of climates, as it cannot endure temperatures at or below freezing.

All plants are shipped bare-root with the exception of House Plants and Plant Club Subscription Boxes. House plants and succulents will ship from separate locations and may arrive at different times. Orders ship Monday-Friday each week. Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be processed. We ship within the USA and its outlying territories ONLY. Read our full policy here.

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
