The bright white leaves of Echeveria 'Arctic Ice’ take on a powdery look thanks to a very thick coating of farina. The dense rosettes will form a thick carpet of foliage as the plant begins to produce offsets, making this variety a stunning ground-cover in temperate rock gardens or a high contrast addition to potted arrangements. When handling ‘Arctic Ice,’ take care not to mar the powdery layer on each leaf with the oils from your fingerprints, as the resulting smears will not be able to regenerate easily.

Plenty of bright light is key to helping ‘Arctic Ice’ retain its beautiful coloration, compact rosette form, and willingness to produce numerous offsets. Great airflow around the leaves and soil surface, a porous soil mixture, and excellent drainage will keep the plant’s roots dry and happy – and a thorough but infrequent watering routine will further cement this success.

The tender and fleshy leaves of this variety must be protected from frost during the winter months – and in the summertime, bright pink blooms edged in yellow will emerge on stalks up to 1 foot tall, making for a show stopping display of contrasting colors and textures.

If you're not completely happy with your Leaf & Clay purchase, we'll do everything we can to make things right!

All plants are shipped bare-root with the exception of House Plants and Plant Club Subscription Boxes. House plants and succulents will ship from separate locations and may arrive at different times. Orders ship Monday-Friday each week. Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be processed. We ship within the USA and its outlying territories ONLY. Read our full policy here.

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
