This fast growing and hardy succulent variety dazzles with layers upon layers of concentric, pointed leaves in tones of silvery blue. Cupping slightly towards the center of each rosette, the narrow leaves are coated in a thick layer of iridescent farina, and can flush to a rosy hue when ‘stressed’ by elements such as cooler temperatures or direct sunlight. Known to produce dense clumps of offsets reaching over a foot wide, ‘Violet Queen’ makes a stunning groundcover in temperature rock gardens, or can easily fill in the gaps of a potted arrangement with its high contrast leaves.

'Violet Queen' is incredibly drought tolerant, making it critically important not to overwater this variety. By following a routine such as the ‘soak and dry’ method, in conjunction with porous soil, great drainage, and ample airflow around the leaves and soil surface, you will be well on your way to success with this plant. Furthermore, bright light is essential to ‘Violet Queen’s ability to showcase stunning color and rapid growth, so be sure to place this succulent in the path of southern or western-facing sunlight.

During the winter months, shield this tender succulent from frost and extreme cold – and in the summertime, you will be rewarded with a display of pink blooms that are known to attract pollinators!

All plants are shipped bare-root with the exception of House Plants and Plant Club Subscription Boxes. House plants and succulents will ship from separate locations and may arrive at different times. Orders ship Monday-Friday each week. Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be processed. We ship within the USA and its outlying territories ONLY. Read our full policy here.

Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
