One of the more petite Echeveria, 'Painted Lady' succulents form small rosettes with fleshy, silvery-blue leaves and pink tips. While a single rosette of this pastel-colored Echeveria only grows to about 3-4 inches wide, their propensity to offset, or multiply, very rapidly can lead to beautiful clusters of plants up to 3 feet in width! In the springtime, golden yellow flowers with orange “painted” tips will emerge on stalks a few inches taller than the rosettes themselves.
Native to Mexico, where these dainty plants are known to grow along cliff sides, 'Painted Lady' succulents need porous soil with great drainage, plenty of filtered to bright light with ample airflow, and thorough watering only when the soil is completely dry. As these succulents can be prone to etiolating, or stretching, when kept in too dim of an environment, plenty of bright light will yield the best chance for your plant to continue strong, healthy growth and to produce offsets.
Hardy to zone 9a, this plant’s fleshy leaves should be protected from frost in colder months. The leaves are also coated in a layer of farina, which protects them from the sun’s rays while also lending a delicate, pearly glow to the plant, and should be handled with care so as not to damage this coating with the oils from our hands.
If you're not completely happy with your Leaf & Clay purchase, we'll do everything we can to make things right!
All plants are shipped bare-root with the exception of House Plants and Plant Club Subscription Boxes. House plants and succulents will ship from separate locations and may arrive at different times. Orders ship Monday-Friday each week. Please allow 1-3 business days for your order to be processed. We ship within the USA and its outlying territories ONLY. Read our full policy here.
Plant sizing is based on the diameter of the nursery pot (2", 2.5", 3", 4" etc), not the plant itself. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
