Echeveria subsessillis variegata

An incredibly rare cultivar, Echeveria subsessillis variegata features elongated leaves striped in subtle hues of pale blue-green and creamy yellow. When ‘stressed’ through exposure to ample sunlight or cooler temperatures, the margins of each leaf will blush a soft pink, adding yet another layer of pastel beauty to the open rosettes of this exceptional succulent. Reaching up to 5 inches in diameter at maturity, Echeveria subsessillis variegatamakes a great high-contrast ‘filler’ component in any container arrangement or temperature rock garden.

To maintain its compact rosette form, display its richest coloration, and produce ample offsets, this variety requires consistent exposure to bright sunlight. Beyond this, it is key to avoid overwatering, which can predispose the plant to rot or pests. To achieve this, be sure to provide porous soil with excellent drainage, ample airflow around the leaves and soil surface, and thorough watering only when the soil is completely dry.

Unable to tolerate extremes in temperature, be sure to protect Echeveria subsessillis variegatafrom frost and extreme heat, both of which can cause permanent damage to the stunningly variegated leaves.

    Plant Size & Appearance

Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grow in depending on availability or time of year. While we do our best to ship plants as similar to those pictured as possible, please keep in mind that all plants are unique from one to the next, and display color, shape, and growth variation based on current environment, time of year, and other contributing factors. Please note that we ship our plants as dry as possible in the fall and winter months to prevent root rot or freezing. They will plump back up after planting!
